Registering to use Freshtel internet phone

Before you can use the Freshtel on-screen phone to make calls from your PC you need to run through the registration process to obtain a number. Registration is fast and easy. If you’ve already run through the registration process and have got a Freshtel Internet Phone number then you don’t need to register again. You can register for your Freshtel Internet Phone number via the on-screen phone’s Registration Wizard.

Note: You will not be able to register for the service without a validation voucher. These are avaliable in selected hardware packs or from the Freshel UK office.

Completing the Registration form

Once you have completed all the mandatory fields in the Registration form, click the Next > button to continue.

Personal details:
Enter your name and select a password you wish to use for the Freshtel service, then click Next > to continue.

Contact Details:
Fill in all the required contact details then click Next > to continue. Be sure to enter your email address correctly as this is used to activate your account in a later step.

Address:
Complete your full residential or business address and select your time zone. Click Next > to continue. Please note that you must provide a valid address.

Billing Address:
If your billing address is different from the address specified in the previous step, please tick the box and enter it here. Then click Next > to continue.

Number Selection:
This step allows you to choose your Freshtel Internet Phone number. Be sure to choose a number you are happy with, as you will not be able to change this later.

First, select and area code from those available in the drop-down list.

Then choose one of the displayed phone numbers. When you are happy with your selection, click Next > to continue.

Voucher Number:
In order to register for the Freshtel Internet Phone service, you require a Call Voucher. This voucher was included with your hardware purchase. If you do not have a valid voucher number you cannot complete the registration process.

Enter the number exactly as it appears on the voucher, select your place of purchase then click Next > to continue.

Verification:

Enter the characters displayed in the verification image exactly as they appear on the screen.

Once the above steps have been completed, the user clicks on the Next > button to continue.

Activate Account:
Please wait while your Freshtel Internet Phone account is activated. If there are any problems with the information you entered as part of the registration process you will be prompted to make the required changes.

If all the details entered are correct, you will be presented with a screen indicating that the registration process has been successful. If not, the system will indicate which fields have incorrect or missing information by displaying an error and highlighting those fields.

The Registration system will then send you an email containing a link you must follow to activate your account.

Until this has been done you will not have a valid Freshtel internet phone account.

If you try to log in before the account has been activated, the login will fail.

Note: The Freshtel Internet Phone registration system will send the registration email to you immediately. However, due to the nature of email the message can take some time to arrive. Problems with Internet connections, ISPs and mail servers along the path between the registration system and you can delay the arrival of the email. In the worst case scenario the email may take 24 hours to arrive. In the vast majority of cases the email will arrive in less then 5 minutes.

Some mail programs may also mark the email as spam – so be sure to check your Spam/Junk folders if you can’t find the email.

Registration Email:
The Registration email contains details of your account including the account name, chosen phone number and password.

Also included is a link to activate the account, and general information about the Freshtel Internet Phone service. Before you can log in for the first time, you must click on the click here link in the email to activate your account.

Clicking on the activate account link within the registration email will open up a new browser window showing the above page. This page confirms the account activation.

Once the details have been entered into the text boxes, you can log in and begin using the service.

Completing the Freshtel internet phone set-up

Return to the wizard screen on the desktop and the Audio Wizard will now run. This part of the setup will take you through the connection of your sLife USB device.

Connect your new USB hardware at this stage to a free USB port on your PC. Once the hardware has been connected, click Next > to continue.

After you complete the Audio Wizard, your new Freshtel internet phone will be ready to use!
